  • Yoga Meets Physical Therapy

    Please note a small date changes since the print catalog. (no class 6/3, additional class added 6/24). Have you been wanting to take a yoga class but told yourself that you can’t because of a hip replacement, knee pain, frozen shoulder, lower back pain, or something else? Join this gentle yoga class that focuses on the use of somatic techniques and props to expand your capacity for movement, better posture, and recalibration of muscles and internal organs. Explore sensations and get more comfortable in your own body, using blankets, therapeutic balls, blocks, chairs, belts, and other tools. For each class, students must bring: Yoga mat, and blanket that is able to cover the yoga mat (yoga blanket or any old blanket from home) Yoga strap (8 or 10 feet highly recommended ) 2 yoga blocks 2 tennis balls or therapy balls Towel that can be used as pillow, or a small pillow if available
  • Spine Mobility Workshop

    We tend to overlook the importance of our spine as the key structure that keeps us upright and connects the different parts of our skeleton to each other: our head, chest, pelvis, shoulders, arms, and legs. This class focuses on spinal articulation by visiting extension, flexion, side movements, and twists to increase space and ease of motion, and decrease discomfort and rigidity. We will embark on supine, seated, and standing exercises that are meant for everyone who wants to feel and move better. All mobility/fitness levels are welcome. Please note: Students must bring the following to class: Yoga mat Yoga belt/long strap (8-10 feet long) Blanket Blocks
