Each session includes a review of the work of a master botanical painter, demonstrations by the instructor, experimentation with painting techniques, and many opportunities for individual instructor feedback. Painting the Landscape in Japanese Ink & WatercolorFine Arts & CraftsCreate expressive, meditative paintings of nature using Sumi ink and brushes. You’ll learn how to make sumi ink with an ink stick and water, use the brush in creative ways, explore classical Japanese watercolor techniques, try marbling, and more. Draw inspiration from the Japanese Edo Period while painting subjects such as mountains, waterfalls, rocks, trees, birds, and insects, as well as classical plants like the orchid and bamboo, symbols of spring and summer.
