Classes for high school students
Spice up your week by learning how to groove and spin your way into Latin dance. In addition to focusing on the vibrant and passionate rhythms of salsa, we will also explore related styles that you may come across during a salsa night—the upbeat merengue and the slow and sultry bachata. No previous dance experience necessary. We will start from basics and build to combos. Couples and singles welcome.
Please note: If attending as a couple, both dancers must register individually.
Monica Schauweker has been teaching dance for more than 20 years to students of all ages. She was a teacher and manager at Arthur Murray for nine years before starting her own business. She is a semi-finalist and finalist in the professional rhythm division and has competed with her students all over the world. In 2017 one of her students ranked as the top 5th student in the USA in the World Dancesport Series. She is also a nature lover and mom of two active kids. In her free time she is often camping and hiking with her family in the mountains.
