Classes for high school students
Have fun doing creative hands-on experiments that go beyond what you would learn in school. We’ll dabble in chemistry, physics, and engineering. Focus on things that fly by constructing paper helicopters, launching straw rockets, and participating in a paper airplane challenge. Build a marble maze, a spaghetti tower, and more. Do chemistry experiments, explore electricity, and get “attracted” to magnetism, then make a flip book about our experiments to take home and share.
Hello! My name is Julie Gallagher and I have been teaching middle school science for the last 24 years. My favorite part of teaching Science is helping the students explore, create, and learn through hands on experiments.
Originally from Kilkenny, Ireland. University of Limerick alumnus. I am in my 4th year in APS teaching 7th grade Science in the Ottoson. After university I taught in London for a year before moving to Boston and working in Harvard Medical School in a cancer research lab. I soon missed teaching, and I thought that Arlington would be a good fit.
