Classes for high school students
Mount Kilimanjaro, Zion National Park, Icelandic glaciers and volcanoes, and a high speed rail network in Japan—we’ll explore these places and more as we learn about using and making maps. Through hands-on investigation, detailed drawing, and 3D construction using a variety of materials, learn the language of cartographers as you map unique landscapes, major points of interest, and physical topography. Then put your skills to the test by following a “treasure map” that will lead to a prize hidden somewhere at SummerFun!
Tim Shabarekh, (known to students as Mr. S.) is the in-building substitute teacher at Bishop Elementary School. As he supports the Bishop community, Tim is pursuing his DESE teaching certification in elementary education at Salem State University. Tim has also coached his son’s soccer team with Arlington Soccer Club since 2018.
