Spanish is everywhere! Learn by asking everyday questions, performing skits, making crafts, and singing songs. Each term, we will explore a different theme, so our skills will grow throughout the year. In the primavera (spring) students will learn how to talk about their hobbies and homes. Lessons are adapted for a variety of levels, making this an excellent introduction for beginners and an opportunity for returning students to practice what they know. The classes for younger grades include a weekly take-home book (fee included) to help students remember what they’ve practiced in class.

Join in on some coding fun. In this self-driven and self-paced course, we will use Scratch Jr., CodeSpark, and code.org to explore coding and programming concepts that will bring computer screens and inventive ideas to life. All junior coders are welcome.

Make a movie! Your production team will brainstorm story ideas and write a script featuring witty dialog and convincing characters, with a role for everyone. Then you’ll take turns directing, acting, and filming with iPads. You'll edit your footage into a final movie that includes panning, transition shots, special effects, green screen backgrounds, and credits. We’ll screen our movies together and you can also watch yours again at home.

Printmaking is a great way to expand your artmaking skills and creativity by allowing you to experiment with making multiple unique images from the same plate. Use various printmaking methods, including relief printing, multicolored reduction prints, patterned mandalas, and monotypes with found objects, to create one-of-a-kind works of art. Explore the endless creative possibilities that printmaking offers.

How did you do that?! Explore fascinating science “magic” as we make water disappear, grow glowing cubes, and reveal beasts that expand to 800 times their size. Create shimmering crystals that grow on a piece of paper. Watch colors change before your eyes and make objects move using the power of science.

Please note: Students who are enrolled in Strattons after school program (APTG), should enroll in Session 2 Known for its fun games and teamwork-oriented environment, Nathan’s Ninjas is a mix of traditional Kempo Karate with elements of sport karate, tumbling, and grappling. This course will give you a true self-defense perspective, all while having fun and building confidence.

Considered one of the greatest games ever invented, chess teaches many important life concepts such as how to win graciously, how to accept defeat with dignity, concentration, and sportsmanship. Learn chess rules, positional tactics, and basics to more advanced moves with the guidance of an experienced chess master. We will divide into groups according to experience and end the program with a mini chess tournament. All levels welcome.
