Classes for high school students
Draw and paint on fabric using embroidery and 2D needle felting. Learn a few basic stitches, how to heat transfer original designs, and use needle felting pens to create mini wool paintings. We will also paint on canvas and then stitch through it to create new works of art, and try our hands at weaving with yarn and other materials.
Annmarie Rebola is a Visual Arts Teacher at Arlington High School entering her 14th year. She earned her BFA at MassArt, and her Masters in Art Education from BU. Growing up in a Portuguese and Ukrainian household, she has been surrounded by handmade textiles all her life and enjoys teaching embroidery to students as a contemporary form of drawing.
