Classes for high school students
Use Frida Kahlo’s art and spirit of fiercely authentic self-reflection to invoke your own inner strength and resilience. She transformed her trauma into powerful portraits of healing, beauty, and creativity. We will take a selfie, convert it into a black-and-white image, transfer it in ink onto canvas, and paint the headpiece and background in vivid colors. Embellish the face with empowering attributes as we dive into the unconscious and explore our roots in this collective meditative process. All materials provided.
Barbara Sitar is a professional visual artist based in Prague and Boston. Fluent in various arts and crafts, she mentors and instructs individuals, teaches groups, and leads workshops and retreats on creativity and expanded consciousness. This unique set of skills manifests in her own artwork and teaching practice that spans from glass, metal casting, live drawing, and painting to jewelry.
