Do you crave hot and spicy food? Indian cuisine offers a wide spectrum of spice, and in some regions the heat is taken to the extreme. Turn up the temperature by cooking red-hot recipes from different parts of India. Possible dishes may include chickpea flour pancakes loaded with tomatoes, onions, and Thai chilies; hare mirch ki salan, a spicy Hyderabadi curry made with fried hot chilies; and red pulao, rice colored vibrant red with dried chilies. Come prepared to sweat! This class is a mix of demonstration and hands-on cooking.
Shruti Mehta is a native of India and a cooking enthusiast. Shruti enjoys teaching others how to prepare Indian vegetarian dishes, and has taught cooking courses for several adult education programs.
