Classes for high school students
Bonjour! Learn everyday French through active fun. Playfully groove to music, create comic skits, sing along with popular French songs, and make up rules to lively games. As we practice French phrases and conversation, you’ll sharpen your storytelling ability, try dance steps, and make nouveaux amis (new friends). New and returning students are welcome, as each term will introduce different games and vocabulary.
Sophie Leurent loves sharing the joy, energy, and sense of belonging that dance and yoga bring. Originally from France, she knows how important it is to feel welcomed and connected, especially when far from home. She first trained at the Conservatory of Brittany and later in Movement, Rhythm & Voice in Paris, inspired by the Katherine Dunham Method. After moving to Boston, she expanded her practice to include yoga, Somatic Activated Healing Dance, NIA, and African Healing Dance. In a world where screens and remote work often keep us apart, Sophie sees dance as the perfect way to reconnect—to ourselves and to each other. For her, movement is not just about self-expression but about building bonds, lifting each other up, and finding joy in shared rhythms.
