Fabricate a sterling silver ring, a sterling silver pendant with a bezel-set stone, and a set of bangle bracelets in this beginner-level jewelry-making workshop. Learn the basic fundamentals of metalsmithing while incorporating personal design touches. All materials will be provided, including sterling silver, copper, bronze, stones, solder, saw blades, and more. To complete all projects, you must attend every class.

Please note: For AHS students only. All four days are in person. This four-day course is designed for rising seniors who want help managing the many requirements of the college application process and fine-tuning their essay. Work with AHS school counselors Danielle Rakowsky and Kathy Hirsch, along with English teacher Nicole Eidson to explore topics including: application time management and scheduling, resume-building, essay and supplement writing, interview preparation, and financial aid awareness. For AHS students only.

Be amazed by the stunning, functional pieces of art you can make by combining colorful pieces of cut glass. After learning how to work safely, you will design your own unique fused glass tile and a night light using glass pieces, powders, frits (crushed glass), and stringers (spaghetti-like glass threads). Then decorate a trivet and embellish a mirror with a gorgeous glass mosaic. Finish the week by creating two beautiful silver-plated pendant necklaces featuring color-changing iridized and dichroic glass. Please note: Tuition includes a $105 materials fee. This class has now been expanded to include students in grades 7+ 2022 parent: "My child liked making a variety of objects from glass without any accidents. He also enjoyed being able to use glass cutting tools and glass firing in a safe way."

If you have been playing an instrument for at least a year, join us for some musical fun. Practice the basics of jazz improvisation while jamming with other musicians in combo and jazz band settings, and learn to read chords and jazz harmony. Open to woodwinds, brass, guitar, bass, piano, and drums. Please note: You must bring your own instrument, please let us know if that’s a problem!

Create stunning landscapes on a variety of surfaces, including canvas, wood, and paper, using both acrylic and water-mixable oil paints. Learn how to layer and blend these versatile mediums to capture light, color, and the natural beauty around you. Explore techniques to bring depth, texture, and atmosphere to your work as you paint a majestic mountain scene, a tranquil ocean view, and a dramatic sunset over the mountains. Discover new ways to express your creativity and develop your confidence as an artist.

Explore traditional and contemporary painting techniques as well as color theory and composition. We will work on developing conceptual skills from observation to imagination. Improve your technical skills by analyzing historical and contemporary works, and collaborate through group critiques and discussions. This class is open to all skill levels.

Personalize your style with the art of screen printing. Learn how to create custom t-shirts, tote bags, and more. Try a variety of screen printing methods, including cutting stencils, creating DIY screens, and using photo emulsion. All screen printing supplies are included—just bring your own apparel to transform into your own unique, wearable art. Best of all, you’ll gain the skills to continue making personalized creations at home.
