Classes for high school students
This intermediate-level workshop focuses on the process of creating custom settings for sea glass or other found objects. Explore more advanced techniques in soldering, piercing, and forming to create a pendant with a large-format prong setting. All materials are provided, including sterling silver sheets and wire, sea glass, solder, sandpaper, and more. You are also welcome to bring your own sea glass or found objects, no larger than 1.5 inches.
Laurie Savage is a jeweler and jewelry instructor. She has taught the jewelry program at Cambridge Center for Adult Ed since 1999, as well as metalsmithing and jewelry classes and workshops at Haystack, LEXArt, Brookline Adult Ed, and Arlington Community Education (ACE). She received a BFA in metalsmithing from MassArt in 1998.
