Classes for high school students
Demystify watercolor painting in this fun and supportive class. Create expressive landscapes, still lifes, and botanical paintings with lots of instructor feedback. Practice a variety of techniques, including flat wash, dry brush, mixing colors, wet-into-wet, creating effective edges, and more. Paint from both direct observation and photographs. Beginning and continuing watercolor students are welcome. Some drawing experience is helpful.

Corry Buckwalter is a visual artist, educator and landscape designer based in Arlington. Her artwork explores ecology, land use, and botanical history. In the studio classroom, Corry nurtures individual student creativity through inclusive and supportive instruction. Her belief that art making is a catalyst for personal growth and community-building has grown from her extensive experience teaching adult learners of all abilities.
