Classes for high school students
NIA is a unique blend of martial arts and dance that emphasizes neurologically and physically balanced movements. Each week, we’ll carefully warm up, then learn two segments of a full NIA routine. Learn how to execute the specific movements and adapt them to your fitness level to maximize the benefits. By gradually piecing together the routine and experiencing it holistically, you will develop more confidence, heighten your body awareness, and protect yourself from possible injury by increasing your ability to fluidly adapt movements in the moment.
Deb is a licensed clinical psychologist, bodyworker, and certified NIA and taijiquan qigong teacher. Music, movement, and dance have always been a part of her life. As a result, her psychotherapy practice specializes in the mind/body connection and on integrating eastern and western healing principles and practices. She loves her work and sharing what she has learned.
