Explore its rich history and scenic charms with a guided tour. Discover the history of the forts, spanning from 1634 to the present day, in this South Boston area. Learn about the MWRA’s Deer Island wastewater treatment plant, pivotal to the harborfront’s revitalization, and the significance of Logan International Airport to New England commerce. Uncover Edgar Allan Poe’s 1820s connection to the island. Following the tour, you are welcome to join your guide for an optional casual seafood lunch at Castle Island’s iconic seasonal eatery, Sullivan’s.
