Tack Fusing Glass Workshop: Flowers & Landscapes

Adult Enrichment / Fine Arts & Crafts -
Fall 2024

Learn the basics of glass fusing by creating a decorative 8x11 inch tile that will be kiln-fired at 1400 degrees—a temperature that will allow the glass elements of your design to remain three-dimensional. To create your composition, you will work with powders, frit, confetti, copper, stringers, and glass ribbons. Landscapes and flowers are popular sources of inspiration, but you are welcome to explore other ideas. Your instructor will fire your creation in his kiln. Teens are welcome to register if accompanied by a registered adult.

Note: Your instructor will fire your creations in his own kiln and they will be available for pickup at Arlington High School within two weeks.

Safety Note: Students must wear closed toe shoes, eyeglasses or safety glasses (glasses can be provided to those who do not have them).

Michel L'Huillier
