Expand your creativity and showcase your acting talent as you learn about bringing characters to life. We’ll focus on lighthearted themes through a series of unscripted short scenes and interactive games performed improv style. After developing characters, voices, and personalities, we’ll work together to craft a final showing of silly stories where everyone gets a turn to shine.

Design the house of your dreams as you learn the basics of architectural design and construction. Explore various architectural styles, floor plans, and interior design concepts. Share ideas and insights as you collaborate with your classmates throughout the design process. You will complete a model that showcases your unique style and get a deeper appreciation for the art and science of architecture. Please note: No class Friday, May 23

The Ottoson Art Show will be held on April 7th, so the class will now begin on April 14 and end on June 16. Experiment with clay to create a variety of imaginative and useful objects. We will discuss form and function and practice different hand-building techniques (pinching, coiling, and slab building) as well as surface decoration as we build sculptural, functional, and fantastical pieces of art.

Get an overview of the college athletic recruitment process. While each sport has its own nuances, several standards apply across the spectrum of collegiate sports. From honest self-assessment and identifying the right level of competition to understanding the timeline for outreach and making a commitment to a college coach, we’ll guide families through the essential steps, do’s and don’ts, and common misconceptions. The program will include valuable insights, helpful tips, and ample time for Q&A. Parents and students are invited to attend together, using the same screen.

The college essay personal statement is arguably one of the most important pieces of writing a student will complete in high school. Parents of high school juniors are invited to learn more about what admission officers seek in the personal statement. We will also cover approaches to answering common supplemental essay prompts and provide tips parents can use to support their student throughout the writing process.

Join the Plantmobile Garden Club! Learn the basics of botany and biology while creating art and science projects relating to the wild world of plants. Grow plants and track their progress, sow seeds, create plant-based art projects, and use microscopes to get up-close and personal with plant anatomy. We’ll talk about where and how plants grow, take a closer look at some of our plants’ best friends, insects and worms, and dig into how they all work and communicate together.
