Beginning Jewelry IntensiveHigh SchoolIn this beginning jewelry making workshop, students will fabricate a sterling silver ring, a sterling silver pendant with a bezel-set stone, and a set of bangle bracelets. Students will learn the basic fundamentals of metalsmithing, while incorporating personal design touches. All materials will be provided, including sterling silver, copper, bronze, stones, solder, saw blades, and more. To complete all projects, students must attend every class.SummerFun! 2023

College Application BootcampHigh SchoolThis four day course is designed for rising seniors looking to get a jump start on their college application process, or who want help managing the many requirements of the application process. Work with AHS school counselors Danielle Rakowsky and Kathy Hirsch, along with English teacher Nicole Eidson to explore topics including: college application time management and scheduling, resume-building, college essay and supplement writing, college interview preparation, and financial aid awareness. LeatherworkingHigh SchoolLearn about working with leather while designing and constructing a keychain, simple wallet or pouch, and your own pair of sandals. We’ll discuss leather and its properties, the tools we will use, and decoration techniques. Working with a choice of vegetable tanned leather, you’ll practice using knives safely to cut the material and then use punches, rivets, and studs to construct your projects.
