Transform everyday sounds into captivating rhythms and melodies using Soundtrap, a kid-friendly digital audio workstation. From recording and manipulating sounds, to mixing your very own tracks, to learning the key elements of songwriting and music theory, this hands-on course will encourage you to view the world around you as an endless source of musical inspiration.

Create a portfolio of artistic masterpieces in pencil, paint, and clay. Like a true Renaissance artist, you’ll explore how inventive you can be using different media and techniques, including watercolor and acrylic paints, sketching and drawing, clay sculpture—and even cartoons, anime, and manga.

Explore the world of scientific discovery as you create a lava lamp, engineer a race car, or make a ping pong ball hang in the air. You may stir up invisible ink, create a volcanic eruption, or build a Newton’s Cradle. We’ll discuss the development and application of various scientific principles and build our science vocabulary using illustrations and handouts that you can use to recreate your experiments at home.

Unleash your creativity by making bracelets, necklaces, or other wearable items using both typical and unusual materials. To show you what jewelry can be, we’ll turn to history to see what people from different ages and places like to wear. Whether you decide that your look is bright and bold, or simple and straightforward, you’ll assemble a collection of fantastic fashion items that will dazzle your family and friends.

Make a movie! Your production team will brainstorm story ideas and write a script featuring witty dialog and convincing characters, with a role for everyone. Then you’ll take turns directing, acting, and filming with iPads. You'll edit your footage into a final movie that includes panning, transition shots, special effects, green screen backgrounds, and credits. We’ll screen our movies together and you can also watch yours again at home.
