It’s no secret that watercolor and gouache can work amazingly well together. Learn how to combine the distinctive characteristics of each medium. You will experiment with various techniques, exploring how opaque gouache and transparent watercolor can complement each other to create unique works of art. We will also study famous artists and illustrators who have effectively used these mediums in their work. Prior drawing/painting experience is recommended. Please note: This is a 7 week class. Explore the vibrant medium of oil pastels. Learn how to blend, layer, and create texture through various techniques. Working through a series of projects, you’ll progress from color mixing studies and sketching to finished paintings. Subjects will include flowers, animals, and landscapes, allowing for creative expression across a variety of styles and compositions. All levels are welcome. Capture the charm and character of historic homes as you learn to draw architectural details and the unique essence of various house styles. Using graphite pencils and markers, you’ll bring your sketches to life, focusing on texture, perspective, and composition. Whether you’re drawn to intricate doorways or unique rooflines, you’ll develop the skills to express the true beauty of old houses. Prior drawing/painting experience is recommended.
