Awesome Animal Art
Travel to different ecosystems, learn about some of the animals that live there, and create art inspired by their unique characteristics. Dive into the depths of the oceans and create creatures that swim among the fish. Trek to the savannah, learn about lions, and recreate their majestic manes. Experiment with materials such as model magic, tissue paper, oil pastels, and more to make your awesome animal art. -
Embroidery Extravaganza
Learn a few embroidery stitches, including backstitch and split stitch, and discover how to use them to stitch your own creative designs. You can make custom patches to iron onto a tote bag or craft a one-of-a-kind piece of art to hang in your room. Develop a new skill that lets you add a personal touch to everyday items and express your creativity in a fun, unique way. Take home a needle, a hoop, and plenty of floss to continue stitching at home. -
Glass Art Fusing & Mosaics
Be amazed by the stunning, functional pieces of art you can make by combining colorful pieces of cut glass. After learning how to work safely, you will design your own unique fused glass tile and a night light using glass pieces, powders, frits (crushed glass), and stringers (spaghetti-like glass threads). Then decorate a trivet and embellish a mirror with a gorgeous glass mosaic. Finish the week by creating two beautiful silver-plated pendant necklaces featuring color-changing iridized and dichroic glass. Please note: Tuition includes a $105 materials fee. Inspired Artists
Use Matisse’s paper cut outs, Frida Kahlo’s portraits, and the techniques of other famous artists as inspiration for your own artwork. We’ll talk about artists we love, study examples of their work, and then experiment with the drawing, painting, and collaging techniques that make their work so extraordinary. -
Crazy for Cats
If furry felines are some of your best friends, join us for this “cat-tastic” week of kitty-inspired crafting. We’ll make a journal to write down cat stories and poems, decorate a frame to hold your cat’s photo, make cat toys and a small fleece blanket, construct our own cat costumes, sculpt cat miniatures, and more. -
Jazzy Jewelry
Join this creative and hands-on class to design your own jewelry and a one-of-a-kind box to store your dazzling work. From paper to buttons, embroidery floss to clay, pompoms to felt, learn to turn simple materials into completely original jewelry to give as gifts or keep for yourself. -
Mini Houses—Powered Up
Transform ordinary cardboard into extraordinary mini buildings and houses, complete with working lights. Use fabric, natural materials, cardboard, glitter, and real lights to create a detailed scene. Add in tiny food, characters, furniture, and other realistic elements to tell a magical story in a mini way. -
Learn to Draw
Learn to draw animals, vehicles, plants, ocean creatures, and more, using a combination of basic shapes. Pick your favorites and combine them to make a scene that you will color with a variety of media. Each day we will focus on a different theme and build on our drawing knowledge to make more elaborate pictures. There’s no right or wrong in this class—drawing is all about having fun! -
Contemporary Drawing
Develop your observational, descriptive, and perceptual drawing skills and expand your visual vocabulary. We will explore academic drawing from life and observation as well as experimental drawing that is less conventional, using a variety of drawing techniques and materials. Subjects may include still lifes, the figure, and landscapes. -
Sew a Tote
Learn to sew and make a tote that you can use to carry all of your stuff. Move beyond hand sewing and learn to use a sewing machine to create a bag with pockets and details that reflect your unique style. After sewing your bag you can decorate it with iron-on decals, fabric paints, or create your own appliqué to really make a statement. You will need to bring fabric and thread to customize your project. A list will be provided. -
The Art of Printmaking
Explore the fundamentals of printmaking as you learn about various techniques, tools, and materials while discovering the rich history of this expressive art form. Experiment with layering colors and patterns through the creation of monoprints, relief prints, reductive prints, and cyanotypes (sun prints). You’ll be encouraged to express yourself, solve creative challenges, and embrace the joy of artistic creation in a safe, supportive studio environment. -
Perler Bead Paradise
Spend the week making awesome Perler bead designs and crafts. You can make classic flat designs or get creative with 3D shapes. Carefully arrange your beads on a pegboard, and then we’ll melt them together to make permanent pieces of art. Make keychains, magnets, fun characters, cool designs to hang up, or whatever you can dream up—let your imagination fuse into creative masterpieces! -
Picture Me
Explore your many sides using mixed media art. Make a special self-portrait that combines drawing and a photo, and learn about abstract art as you design a poster that represents your true personality. Turn your name into a symmetrical alien, draw a giant selfie, make a collage of your favorite things, sculpt your handprints in clay, and more. -
Ocean Waves & Crafty Days
Catch a wave of creativity with this beach-themed adventure full of crafts, stories, and ocean-inspired fun. We’ll create sand art, make an ocean in a bottle, explore the beauty of seashells, craft an ocean sensory bin, and more. It’s the perfect way to visit the beach without getting sand in your shoes! -
Doll Fashion Studio
Design and create custom clothing for your Barbie or fashion dolls using a variety of fabrics, embellishments, and sewing techniques. Learn both hand and machine stitching to craft everything from trendy tops to chic accessories. Take home a runway-worthy collection of stylish, one-of-a-kind outfits and the confidence to continue designing your own fabulous fashion creations. -
Harry Potter Crafting Magic
Immerse yourself in the world of Harry Potter through a combination of creative arts and crafts while enjoying the company of your fellow fans. Construct personalized wands and craft your way through potions, divination, herbology, care of magical creatures, and quidditch. Shoebox Creations
Use your imagination to bring the settings of popular books to life. We will read a new story each day and create a detailed miniature scene in a shoebox inspired by your favorite part. Use a variety of mediums such as clay, paint, markers, and popsicle sticks as your building materials. You’ll also make up your own story and craft a shoebox scene depicting its setting. -
Fiber Art Studio
Draw and paint on fabric using embroidery and 2D needle felting. Learn a few basic stitches, how to heat transfer original designs, and use needle felting pens to create mini wool paintings. We will also paint on canvas and then stitch through it to create new works of art, and try our hands at weaving with yarn and other materials. -
Taylor Swift: The Arts Tour
Are you a Swiftie who loves art? Come craft creations straight out of your “wildest dreams.” We’ll draw, create silhouettes, and do awesome crafts inspired by Taylor’s music and style. Whether you’re crafting a “cardigan” or designing a “folklore”-themed masterpiece, come express yourself and make art as unique as a Swiftie playlist. “You belong with me” on this artistic adventure! -
The Wonders of Ancient Egypt
Journey through the sands of time to the land of the pharaohs and uncover the mysteries of ancient Egypt. Create your own papyrus scroll, decode the secrets of hieroglyphics, and design a personalized cartouche with your name written in these ancient Egyptian symbols. We’ll construct miniature pyramids, make cat mummies, and design an ornate necklace fit for a king. Unveil the treasures of the Nile and depart with artifacts worthy of the ancient gods. -
Tiny Town
Create a mini world filled with maximum possibilities. Design miniature furniture, decor, and figures for dollhouses or other imaginative spaces like a restaurant, garden, or library. Master the skills of measuring, constructing, and decorating miniatures to bring your creative ideas to life. By the end of the week, our miniature village will be filled with homes, landmarks, and public spaces, all connected by a central community center that we’ll design and build together. -
World of Crafts
Travel the world as we explore the cultures and crafts of people from countries near and far. We’ll discuss geography, history, and traditions as we work on projects including portraits of the ancient Egyptians using melted wax painting, cave painting stories, Mexican relief “tin” folk art, and Japanese fish prints. At the end of the week we’ll pack it all up and take home a trip portfolio. -
Creation Station
Embark on a journey of creativity, from crafting slime and DIY playdough to building a captivating gallery featuring painted rocks, paper fish, and more. Upcycle popsicle sticks, twigs, yarn, and other materials to make wall hangings, picture frames, and bracelets. Other projects in the lineup include coasters, duct tape pencil cases, and tie-dye headbands made from t-shirts. -
Keychain Craze
Create colorful keychains using an assortment of pony beads. Follow a pattern to make charming critters such as cute cats and leapin’ lizards and fun foods like sweet strawberries and incredible ice cream cones. Or be creative and come up with your own geometric or organic design. Decorate your backpack or give your keychains as adorable, practical gifts.
