Learn about what it means to write, debug, and execute computer programs that communicate with different robotic devices. Using the power of code, we’ll turn Sphero SPRK+ robots into Magic 8 Balls, automated Red Light/Green Light games, and the arcade classic Pong. Unruly Splats will become voting machines, relay races, guessing games, or anything else you can think of.

Explore a seemingly endless supply of fun materials in this “craft-tacular” week. We’ll use yarn, popsicle sticks, beads, and more to make a variety of projects, including fluffy pompoms, treasure boxes, beaded geckos, flip flop noteholders, and more. Expand your crafting skills with gimp as we experiment with different stitches to make things like bracelets, keychains, and lanyards. 

Embroidery is a relaxing and accessible way to be creative. Whether you’ve never embroidered before or want to get back into it, come learn or get a refresher on some basic stitches and explore the use of color. We’ll also look at working with patterned fabrics and easy ways to incorporate stitching into clothing, linens, bags, and more. Please note: An assortment of embroidery thread, needles, base fabrics, and sampler designs will be provided. Students should bring scissors and a bag for transporting items
