Use paper and photos as your canvas—and thread as your medium—to create one-of-a-kind images. Learn or review basic embroidery stitches, get inspiration from the work of artists who use this technique, and practice working with patterns and transferring images. We’ll explore the technique on paper and images from magazines in the first class. Bring your own photos (black and white is best) and postcards to work on at the second class. An assortment of embroidery thread, sample images, and a needle will be provided. New and returning students are welcome.  Please note: An assortment of embroidery thread, needles, base fabrics, and sampler designs will be provided. Students should bring scissors and a bag for transporting items

Refine your sewing and embroidery skills in this hands-on workshop designed for students with prior experience. Begin by sewing a simple yet functional project—a tote or pillowcase. Then, use embroidery to add intricate details and creative flair, turning your project into a one-of-a-kind heirloom. Bring your own sewing machine and get ready to create something truly special. Please note: Bring your sewing machine in good working order. Instructors will email a combined supply list for the workshop, including fabric and embroidery floss.

Work as a fashion designer and stylist to create a fabulous outfit and accessories using fabrics, paints, and some unconventional materials. We’ll talk about fashion principles such as color and proportion, take a spin through fashion history and trends from the 1920s through today, and use sewing machines to turn our creative visions into fashion reality.
