Starting your garden from seeds not only gives you a sense of accomplishment, but it also lets you grow a wider variety of vegetables, flowers, and herbs than you’d find at big box stores. Plus, you don’t have to wait for the frost to thaw before you begin. Learn how to select the right seeds for our climate, sow at the proper depth and spacing, and all about soil types, containers, and watering methods. We’ll cover the optimal light and temperature conditions for seedling growth, as well as how to manage moisture, fertilize young plants, prevent pests and diseases, and successfully transplant your seedlings. Now is the perfect time to get started, so you’ll take home a seed starting kit filled with soil and the seeds of your choice.
