Classes for high school students
Perhaps you’re getting ready for a house cleanout, or you’ve just pledged to live a more minimalist lifestyle. Where can you get rid of all kinds of random stuff? We’ll look hyperlocally at donation, reuse, and recycling options you may not have considered. Arlington has been weaving a valuable web of connections with nonprofits in our area in an effort to maximize the best use for the items our residents no longer need. Recent changes to state waste ban laws may impact your options, and you’ll want to know how. To help make this huge task a little lighter, we will provide handouts to guide you and shed light on why you can feel okay about making these sometimes hard choices about rehoming your possessions. This class is co-sponsored by the Town of Arlington DPW.
All proceeds from this event go towards the ACE Scholarship fund to help make our classes more accessible to all Arlington youth.
Charlotte Milan has been the Town of Arlington's Recycling Coordinator since 2012. Passionate about community engagement, Charlotte recruited legions of volunteers to help launch the highly successful Arlington DPW Reuse & Recycling Center. She appreciates the deep environmental commitment of Arlingtonians, and strives to co-create projects and programs that excite this community of waste reducers, while bringing Arlington to the forefront of environmental stewardship.
