Classes for high school students
Are you thinking about buying an electric car but concerned about charging, range, or anything else? We’ll talk through the ins and outs of EVs and PHEVs (and teach you the difference!) so that you can make an informed choice about which kind of car would work well with your driving habits. You’ll learn about the different manufacturers, charging options, and financial incentives too. All proceeds from these events go toward the ACE Scholarship fund to help make classes accessible to all Arlington residents.
Greg McKenzie is a scientist and develops new drugs for patients with limited therapeutic options. As a citizen of the world, Greg is concerned about climate change and in 2019 he and his family set out to electrify all aspects of their lives. The first step was buying an electric car. Since then, they've installed a ground source heat pump in their home, insulated their home, switched to induction cooking and bought 14 kW of solar panels for their roof. Greg is excited to share his family's experience with EVs and hybrids with the class.
