Solar Panels: What Homeowners Should Know

Adult Enrichment / Home & Garden -
Spring 2024

Solar panels on your roof can both help “green the grid” and reduce your electric bills. Learn all about the topic from an EnergySage solar expert and hear from Arlington residents who have installed solar panels on their own homes. We’ll talk about solar panels and inverters, different financing options, and the installation process—and cover other options if your roof isn’t good for solar panels. Bring your questions! This class is co-sponsored by Electrify Arlington.

Ezekiel Wheeler is an Arlington resident who has set up two solar installations totalling over 31kwh with another 54kwh in his home and business, which power two electric cars. He's also partnered with MassSave for a lighting retrofit and air-source heat pump for his warehouse, and blown-in insulation on his home. Through the Arlington Winchester HeatSmart program, he installed ground source heat pumps and solar hot water on his 2-family home, bringing these technologies to his family and renters as well. Ezekiel is interested in proving a solid ROI for these choices both at home, and at work.
