A Taste of the Mediterranean
Adult Enrichment / Food & Drink -
Enjoy your Saturday night in true Mediterranean fashion by sharing a light, healthy meal with friends/family, slowing down, and savoring each bite. Influenced by the habits of those living in countries around the Mediterranean Sea, this way of eating is focused on enjoying whole foods with lots of vegetables, legumes, whole grains, and olive oil. Our heart-healthy meal starts with roasting eggplant for a delicious and smooth Lebanese baba ganoush to be served with pita and or crisp vegetables. The star of the show will be spanakopita, a Greek pie with a comforting spinach and feta filling encased in flaky layers of phyllo dough. To complete the meal we’ll make a Turkish çoban salatası (shepherd’s salad) consisting of cucumbers, tomatoes, onion, feta, olives, and a homemade vinaigrette. Please note: A list of ingredients and substitutions will be emailed once the class has reached minimum enrollment.
