Explore the Eustis Estate, a rare surviving example of late nineteenth-century architecture and design. Designed by renowned Boston architect William Ralph Emerson and built in 1878, the mansion sits on eighty acres of picturesque landscape at the base of the Blue Hills. Full of stunning, intact architectural and design details, the Eustis Estate is a historic site unlike any other in the Greater Boston area. This 90-minute guided tour of the house and grounds will discuss the history of the property, the original owners, the landscape, and management of the estate. Please note: Students will be asked to adhere to public health guidelines. Meeting location will be included in your receipt.
The Eustis Estate
The Eustis Estate, is a largely intact late nineteenth-century country home, sits on more than eighty acres nestled at the base of the Blue Hills. Built in 1878, the historic family estate remained in the family through 2012 when it was sold to Historic New England, a charitable, non-profit, historic preservation organization headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. In 2016 the estate was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district.
