The craft of knitting is both fun and functional. Whether knitting a hat or working on a special project, learn stitches and techniques that will engage you in the creative process, while having fun and lowering your stress level.

Knit a Hat: For beginning knitters, learn the step-by-step process of knitting a basic bottom-up beanie in the round, with optional pom-pom. You will learn to cast on, knit, purl, join to knit in the round, decrease, and make a pom-pom.

Project Workshop: For knitters who already know the basics and want to advance their knitting skills,get help with a knitting project of your choice and connect with fellow knitters. Choose a project that incorporates techniques such as cables, colorwork, lacework, short rows, and new cast on/cast off, or increasing/decreasing methods. This class is like a “sit and knit,” but with the benefit of an instructor to help you with any issues and learn new skills.

NOTE FOR Knit a Hat: Bring to class US size 8 (5mm), 16 “ circular knitting needles and a set of double pointed needles in the same size (US 8, 5mm) and 1 skein of plain light colored worsted weight yarn (please no variegated, tweedy, boucle, or other fancy yarns).
