Adult Enrichment / ACE Highlights -
Winter 2023
Hear the fascinating story of how and why an American nonprofit mobilized to preserve the artistic legacy of the city of Venice after the great flood of 1966. Historian and author Christopher Carlsmith’s book, Save Venice Inc., chronicles the history, achievements, and challenges of the organization of the same name. Founded in Boston and now headquartered in New York City, this organization has become one of the largest and most active nonprofits dedicated to raising funds to conserve and restore paintings, sculptures, books, mosaics, and entire buildings at risk from human and environmental impacts in this unique city by the sea.
