Knit One, Purl Two: Knitting for Beginners & Beyond


Adult Enrichment / Fine Arts & Crafts -
Winter 2022

Take up or rediscover the relaxing craft of knitting in these classes for beginners and beyond. Reduce your stress as you get a solid foundation in basic skills, including how to hold the needles and yarn, casting on and binding off, knit and purl stitches, increasing and decreasing, and how to read a pattern. Additional skills will be introduced based on the level and interests of participants. Please note: A materials list will be included in the Course Reminder email.

Kathy Paglierani


Kathy learned to knit right here at Arlington Community Education over 20 years ago. Kathy is enthusiastic about knitting in all of it’s forms—lace, colorwork, sweaters, socks, hats, and shawls. Kathy holds a BS in Clothing and Textiles from Framingham State University.

Karen Roth LoRusso


Karen Roth LoRusso learned knitting as a child and has been an avid adult knitter for many years. She has taught knitting to friends, relatives, and at other organizations.

Hariet Vanderput


Hariet Vanderput, a graduate of the School of Fine Arts Utrecht, has always loved working with texture and color. Knitting is one of her favorite outlets.
