Hatha Yoga

Regular practice of hatha yoga brings calm, focus, increased flexibility, and strength to your life. This moderately-paced yoga class encourages students to move with meditative awareness and attention to alignment and breathing. Class may include active and physically challenging poses as well as more passive, longer holds. You are continually encouraged to explore your inner flow and turn within for guidance–on and off the mat. Suitable for beginners as well as more experienced students. Please note: Have a yoga mat, a yoga strap or belt, and two blocks (if you have them) on hand for class.

Susan L Desmarais

Susan Desmarais has been teaching yoga since 2000, and continues to expand her knowledge in the growing field of yoga therapy through training and certification with Spanda Yoga Therapy & Movement. She is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists, as well as Yoga Alliance. Susan is also certified as a Nutritional Endocrinology Practitioner, Insulin Resistance Practitioner, and Clinical Mastery of the Digestive System Practitioner, through the Institute of Nutritional Endocrinology. She combines her work in yoga therapy with holistic healing, specifically in the areas of soft tissue, bone and joint health, autoimmune conditions, chronic fatigue, lyme, MS, dementia, anxiety, depression, optimal respiration, hormonal imbalances, insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes.
